About Harlingen Area Builders Association

The Harlingen Area Builders Association (HABA) is a 501c non profit organization founded in 2005 by a small group of dedicated builders whose goal was to unite Harlingen area builders as an industry, educate professionals in the construction industry, as well as the general public about current and ever changing construction issues.

Since then HABA is very proud of the many strides that have been made over a very short period of time, including the very successful and first ever Home Show in the Harlingen area. HABA has also established a scholarship program with the TSTC Building and Technology Program which awards a Fall and Spring scholarship to a worthy student. Our goal is to provide education and training through this scholarship and support program at the high school level for students interested in the construction industry and will eventually enter the TSTC Building and Technology Program. HABA has also established the first ever New Home Tour to showcase the beautiful homes and talents of the HABA builders in the Harlingen area.

In addition, HABA continues to serve the community in another important capacity through charitable projects that benefit the many needs of the community, including donations of support to the Ronald McDonald House, Family Crisis Center and the Children's Center at Valley Baptist. HABA also continues to take on projects such as building handicap ramps for the elderly and needy and supporting other groups with various donations of materials and project assistance.

Our Mission

Provide builders/individuals in opportunity of ongoing education in the residential construction industry and promote a networking opportunity for business professionals to support charities/organizations that benefit our community.
